Charm of Finches are a "dream folk" duo based in Melbourne, Australia. till in their teens, sisters Mabel and Ivy started busking bluegrass A Capella at ages 11 and 8.
Music to gaze at stars by, their sound has been described as chamber folk, their signature angelic sibling vocal harmonies with lashings of guitar and cello (Mabel) and fiddle and glockenspiel (Ivy).
Citing acts like First Aid Kit , Agnes Obel, Sufjan Stevens and Gillian Welch as influences, the finches are fast gaining a following on the Australian Folk Festival circuit. They won the Gill Rees Young Musicians' Memorial Award for 2017 at the National Folk Festival in Canberra, and were runners up for the 2017 "Young Artist of the Year" from Folk Alliance Australia .
In 2014 they released their debut EP "Home" and their debut album "Staring at the Starry Ceiling" came out July 2016.
